Compensation: $18.00–$20.00 per hour Position OverviewWheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mailroom Clerk for an onsite contract opportunity in Meriden, CT. This role is responsible for supporting daily mailroom operations, including processing incoming correspondence, maintaining accurate records, updating customer information, and performing administrative support tasks.
The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. Key ResponsibilitiesMail Processing & Document Management
  • Receive, open, sort, and distribute incoming mail and correspondence.
  • Log incoming mail and documentation into internal systems accurately and timely.
  • Process certified mail and prepare documents for scanning and electronic filing.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation is properly routed and tracked.
  • Support document management and records retention processes.
Data Entry & Administrative Support
  • Update borrower mailing addresses based on USPS address change notifications.
  • Perform data entry, filing, typing, emailing, and general clerical duties.
  • Assist with document preparation, record maintenance, and administrative support activities.
  • Utilize internal systems and Microsoft Office applications to manage daily workflows.
Customer Information & Compliance
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and financial information.
  • Assist with outbound calls to verify or update mailing address information as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies regarding data privacy and document handling.
  • Support departmental objectives and complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous mailroom, clerical, administrative, document processing, or office support experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience using office equipment including scanners, copiers, fax machines, and multi-line telephone systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
  • Strong teamwork skills and a positive, professional attitude.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move mail boxes and materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform repetitive administrative tasks throughout the workday.
Work Environment
  • Fully onsite position located in Meriden, Connecticut.
  • Employees are required to work onsite Monday through Friday.
  • Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.
