Job Summary

Join the Loudoun County Department of General Services (DGS) as a full-time Mailroom Lead Courier within the Internal Services Division. This position is based at the Loudoun County Courts Complex and plays a key role in supporting court operations through timely and accurate delivery of mail and packages. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Accurately collect, sort, and distribute UPS, FedEx, USPS, interdepartmental mail, packages, and other deliverables to Court offices.
  • Ensure timely mail delivery in accordance with established schedules.
  • Assist with the operation of mail-metering equipment.
  • Support departments with certified mailings and ensure that the appropriate departments are charged the correct postal rates.
  • Develop courier schedules and complete special projects as needed.

The successful candidate will provide courteous, positive, and helpful service to both internal and external customers at all times.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) months of related experience (preferably coordinating delivery needs/teams) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment background checks, including Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) fingerprinting, criminal history, and DMV record checks.
  • Valid drivers license and good driving record. (Driving records will be reviewed annually for continued qualification.)
  • This position requires the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds and work in all types of weather conditions.
  • May be required to work beyond the scheduled workday.
