Role Summary:
The Morris Plains Mailroom Lead / Site Lead is responsible for the daily operation of the Morris Plains mailroom, package flow, outbound shipping, hazardous shipment support, and onsite retail
store support. This role serves as the primary onsite lead for mailroom activity and must work closely with internal departments, associates, vendors, and management to ensure all packages and materials are received, processed, delivered, shipped, and documented accurately and safely. The Site Lead is expected to maintain a high level of organization, service, compliance, and follow through.

Key Responsibilities:

Mailroom Operations
Oversee the daily operation of the Morris Plains mailroom.
Receive, inspect, review, document, process, sort, prepare, and deliver all materials received through the Mail Center.
Manage inbound and outbound package flow to ensure timely receipt, internal delivery,
pickup, and shipment.
Deliver, pick up, and transport materials within and between departments.
Pick up outbound boxes and packages from internal customer locations.
Sort packages and materials into appropriate categories using established procedures.
Prepare items for processing, shipment, courier pickup, or internal transportation.
Deliver office supplies, copy paper, and other approved business materials as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe mailroom environment.

Shipping and Courier Support
Prepare and process outbound courier shipments using approved carrier systems and
equipment, including UPS and other service providers.
Support domestic and international shipping needs in accordance with company process.
Ensure all shipment documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant before release.
Maintain shipment logs, activity records, and required reporting.
Escalate shipping exceptions, delays, documentation issues, or compliance concerns to
management.

Hazardous Materials / Dangerous Goods Support
Support hazardous shipment activity in accordance with company policy and applicable
safety requirements.
Follow all required handling, packaging, labeling, and documentation procedures for
hazardous or regulated shipments.
Hazardous shipping knowledge is preferred.
Hazardous shipping certification is a plus.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Training will be provided where required.
Safety and Security
Inspect deliveries for suspicious, threatening, damaged, leaking, or non-compliant items.
Follow all safety and security procedures at all times.
Immediately escalate suspicious packages, safety concerns, hazardous material issues, or damaged shipments.
Ensure materials are handled, transported, and stored safely.
Maintain awareness of site safety requirements and emergency procedures.
Work Orders and Administrative Support
Receive and process work order service requests in the applicable format or system.
Enter activity data into logs and maintain accurate records.
Track open items, follow up on pending requests, and communicate status updates as needed.
Support reporting requirements tied to mailroom volume, package activity, shipping, supplies, and service requests.
Onsite Retail Store Support
Support the operation of the onsite retail store.
Maintain product stocking and store readiness.
Support point-of-sale system activity as required.
Assist with inventory control, replenishment, organization, and general store operations.
Escalate POS, inventory, or product issues to management.
Cross-Functional Support
Communicate professionally with associates, internal departments, vendors, and management.
Cross-train on other roles within the department to support business continuity.
Provide coverage and support during staff absences or operational gaps.
Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience in mailroom, shipping, logistics, facilities, office services, or site operations preferred.
Ability to receive, sort, process, move, and ship packages and materials accurately.
Working knowledge of carrier systems such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, or similar platforms preferred.
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Ability to follow established process and safety procedures.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently while escalating issues appropriately.
Basic computer skills required.
POS or retail store support experience preferred.
Hazardous materials / dangerous goods shipping knowledge preferred.
Hazardous shipping certification is a plus; training will be provided where required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull, and move packages or materials throughout the
workday.
Ability to lift and transport boxes and supplies in accordance with site safety guidelines.
Ability to perform hands-on mailroom, shipping, delivery, and stocking tasks.

Success in this role will be measured by:
Accurate and timely processing of inbound and outbound packages
Strong control of hazardous shipment handling and escalation
Consistent completion of delivery and pickup requests
Accurate logs, records, and shipment documentation
Clean, organized, and safe mailroom operation
Reliable onsite retail store support
Strong associate service and communication
Ability to maintain operations during staffing gaps or shifting business needs
