Hands-on experience in IBM MQ installation, upgrades, maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Strong expertise in MQ administration, including monitoring, alert setup, and message flow management using tools such as MQ Explorer, Omegamon, and TEPS.
Ability to design and implement MQ architecture patterns based on application requirements.
Experience in defining and managing MQ objects such as queues, channels, topics, and process definitions.
Proficiency in using MQ utilities for queue management activities (backup, message handling, cleanup, etc.).
Knowledge of MQ clustering, queue sharing, and queue manager setup, migration, and health monitoring.
Experience in performance monitoring and tuning, including CPU usage analysis using SMF statistics.
Strong understanding of integration with CICS, DB2, IMS, and third-party systems.
Experience with CICS TS v5.x / v6.x and CICSPlex, including installation, upgrades, patching, configuration, and RSU maintenance.
Knowledge of CICS MRO environments and system architecture.
Ability to configure and manage CICS resources (RDO) such as transactions, programs, files, and queues.
Experience in troubleshooting using traces (Aux, GTF) and analyzing CICS shutdown statistics.
Understanding of CICS storage management and performance tuning.
Experience in generating and analyzing system and transaction dumps.
Exposure to CICS web services development and support.
Experience with tools such as Tivoli/Omegamon, Broadcom Intertest/Symdump, FileAid, Splunk.
Knowledge of z/OS Connect and mainframe messaging/connectivity environments.
Familiarity with SDS / CAFC for file and application control.
Knowledge of MQSeries / MQ Clients on distributed platforms.
Basic understanding of z/OS, JCL, VSAM, ISPF, COBOL.
Experience in vendor coordination, incident management, and escalations.
Ability to support 24x7 on-call operations as required.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
