Introduction

We are seeking a skilled developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mainframe technologies, specifically with a focus on COBOL development. This role involves working on complex projects that require a high degree of technical expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively with both onsite and offshore teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge in COBOL, DB2, JCL
  • Experience with SQL / Stored Procedure Development
  • Proficiency in supporting tools like SPUFI and FILE-AID
  • Excellent debugging and optimization skills
  • Good understanding of design patterns
  • Experience in onsite-offshore coordination and leading projects from onsite
  • Prior work experience at client or in client's industry
  • Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on PL1 experience
  • Knowledge of Online CICS, MQ, and Batch Processing
  • Experience with supporting tools like REXX and work experience in RTC / IDZ tools, JIRA

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of software development, including design, implementation, deployment, and beyond
  • Provide support for fixing defects during the testing cycle
  • Apply agile methodologies to streamline development and testing processes
  • Maintain high standards for code quality
  • Develop and maintain applications using COBOL, PL1, JCL, DB2, CICS
