Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned Mainframe DB2 System Programmer for CA DB2 tools to IBM DB2 tools migration with 11 13 years of experience to lead strategic initiatives and optimize business processes, with a strong focus on DB2 Administration. This hybrid role requires a deep understanding of database performance, security, and integration, and operates primarily during day shifts.
Required Skills:
DB2 Log analysis tool installation and customization
DB2 Omegamon tool installation and customization
DB2 Administration tool installation and customization
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain DB2 databases to ensure high performance and reliability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement business process improvements
Develop and enforce strategies for database security and data integrity
Monitor performance metrics and recommend enhancements
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues to minimize downtime
Coordinate integration of DB2 systems with other business applications
Provide technical mentorship to junior DB2 administrators
Translate business requirements into technical database solutions
Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards
Lead automation initiatives to streamline database operations
Engage with stakeholders to align database strategies with business goals
Maintain documentation of database procedures and best practices
Contribute to long-term database strategy planning to support organizational growth
Qualifications:
Extensive experience in DB2 Administration and database management
Proven ability to optimize performance and implement robust security measures
Strong analytical skills to assess business needs and design effective solutions
Proficient in troubleshooting complex database issues
Effective collaborator with cross-functional teams
Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
IBM Certified Database Administrator DB2 certification required
