We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to support and enhance critical trading and financial systems within a financial services environment. This role will focus on the development, maintenance, and support of core mainframe applications related to trading operations, including margin processing, profit & loss calculations, and trade processing systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with legacy mainframe technologies while supporting high-volume financial transaction systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications supporting financial trading platforms
Develop and support systems related to margin processing, profit & loss (P&L), and trade processing/order management
Work with technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2 to build and maintain enterprise systems
Support post-trade processing, reconciliation, and trade lifecycle management workflows
Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into system enhancements
Perform debugging, testing, and performance tuning of batch and online applications
Support high-volume transaction processing and batch cycles
Collaborate with trading operations, business analysts, and infrastructure teams to support production systems
Participate in production support, issue resolution, and system upgrades
Ensure systems meet security, reliability, and regulatory standards within financial services
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in mainframe development
Strong programming experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2
Experience supporting financial trading systems or capital markets platforms
Hands-on experience with margin systems, P&L calculations, trade processing, or order management systems
Experience supporting high-volume transaction processing environments
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Experience working in financial services, capital markets, or brokerage environments
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting clearing, settlement, or back-office trading operations
Familiarity with trade lifecycle and regulatory reporting
Experience with Endevor, Changeman, or other mainframe source control tools
Exposure to mainframe modernization or integration with distributed systems or APIs
