Mainframe Developer (JCL) (Hybrid)

We're hiring a Mainframe Developer to join our team in Columbia, SC. This role offers a hybrid schedule, with onsite work required Tuesday through Thursday.

Work Authorization: Sponsorship is not available for this role; no C2C or third-party candidates. Candidates must be able to work on our W2.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain a low-level U.S. security clearance, which requires a thorough background screening and U.S. citizenship
• Experience with:
  • JCL
  • Security Reporting (using SORT/SyncSort)
  • Query skills (Db2/SQL/IMS)
• Ability to write/analyze queries and investigate production issues
• Experience researching problems and supporting internal customers
• Nice to have: Source Control (GitHub, Endevor, IBM DBB, ChangeMan)
• Nice to have: FreezeFrame or DumpMaster
• Nice to have: COBOL programming

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day support for application development teams using mainframe development tools and utilities
• Read, write, and troubleshoot JCL
• Support developers with mainframe issues
• Analyze job failures, performance issues, and long-running jobs
• Work with Db2/SQL/IMS queries
• Process and analyze large data sets
• Combine data from MQ channels, RACF, Active Directory, and other sources for reporting and decision-making
• Support mainframe modernization initiatives

Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree: OR
• Degree Equivalency: 4 years of job-related work experience or 2 years of job-related experience plus an Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree

The hourly rate for this position is $50.36.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have experience with JCL, security reporting using SORT/SyncSort, and query skills in DB2/SQL/IMS. They should be capable of obtaining a low-level U.S. security clearance and be a U.S. citizen. Additional skills in source control, FreezeFrame or DumpMaster, and COBOL programming are advantageous but not required. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience, is necessary.
