IDR is seeking a Mainframe Developer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Olympia, Washington. This role involves supporting state government projects related to mainframe application development and modernization efforts, within a highly technical environment that values expertise in legacy systems.
Position Overview for the Mainframe Developer
- Analyze business and technical requirements for mainframe application enhancements and development initiatives
- Coordinate solution design activities and support overall application architecture planning
- Design, develop, test, debug, and implement mainframe application code
- Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and production support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of mainframe solutions
Requirements for the Mainframe Developer
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and supporting mainframe applications
- Advanced knowledge of mainframe architectures and enterprise mainframe environments
- Advanced understanding of mainframe hardware platforms
- Strong experience with COBOL and mainframe/cobol Rule Mining
- Supporting full software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities
