We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Network Administrator with strong expertise in SNA/VTAM, TCP/IP, and z/OS environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing mainframe network configurations, supporting connectivity across multiple platforms, and ensuring reliable, secure communication between systems. This role involves maintaining network performance, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting key file transfer and printing products in a high-availability mainframe ecosystem.
Provide Mainframe SNA/VTAM and TCP/IP administrative support, including TCPIP profile management.
Perform network recycling, configuration updates, and maintenance tasks for optimal network performance.
Manage and support digital certificates, OSA (Open Systems Adapter) configurations, and related network changes.
Configure and monitor network-related storage replication setups across multiple sites.
Handle network-related SSMF (System & Storage Management Facility) support activities.
Support file transfer protocols and products, including:
Connect:Direct, SFTP, FTPS, and InterPel.
Manage and troubleshoot mainframe printing products such as VPS, DRS, and VMCF.
Provide Host On-Demand support for terminal connectivity and mainframe session access.
Administer and support Session Manager products like Teleview, TPX, and CL/Supersession.
Work collaboratively with system programmers, network engineers, and storage teams to ensure end-to-end network availability.
Maintain and update technical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Ensure compliance with security, performance, and operational standards within mainframe environments.
Mainframe Networking: SNA, VTAM, TCP/IP, OSA Configuration
Operating Systems: z/OS (strong hands-on experience required)
File Transfer Tools: Connect:Direct, SFTP, FTPS, InterPel
Printing Systems: VPS, DRS, VMCF
Session Management: Teleview, TPX, CL/Supersession
Network Storage & Replication: Setup and management across sites
Certificate Management: SSL/TLS certificate handling for secure connections
Tools & Utilities: NetView, SDSF, RACF (for access/security coordination)
Protocols: FTP, NDM, IP routing, DNS, SNMP
