Job Description:- Lead and/or support complex database upgrades, modifications, installations, testing, implementations, maintenance, and enhancements.
- Plan, install, configure, test, implement, and manage core database and system software products supporting the organization's database architecture and business needs.
- Support and administer legacy database environments including DB2, IMS, and ADABAS/NATURAL.
- Manage IMS hierarchical databases, DB2 relational databases, and ADABAS file-based databases.
- Plan and perform database environment upgrades while monitoring overall database health and performance.
- Provide technical DBA consulting to application and operations teams for project planning and development.
- Perform maintenance and technical reviews on production database systems using ADABAS, DB2, and IMS.
- Evaluate, fine-tune, and recommend DBMS software and database solutions.
- Consult with development teams on database architecture, logical database design, and physical database design.
- Perform database capacity planning, performance monitoring, and space monitoring.
- Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
- Perform database reorganizations, replication, compression, and partitioning.
- Work with IBM z/OS, IMS, DB2, ADABAS, SMP/E, JCL, IMS DB/DC, CICS, and ACF2.
- Utilize Assembler, COBOL, REXX, IBM File Manager, DELTA/IMS, NATURAL/SUPERNAT, ENTIREX, CA SPOOL, IMS/DB2 BMC Tools, and N20/TRIM.
- Assess, plan, and execute database migrations to cloud environments.
- Transfer, validate, and maintain databases in cloud environments.
- Install, configure, and support Oracle Enterprise Edition 19c and 21c on Linux.
- Support Oracle databases serving public-facing web applications and internal data warehouses.
- Install and configure MySQL and PostgreSQL databases and support Microsoft SQL Server instances.
- Configure and support Oracle Application Express (APEX) and Oracle gateways connecting SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL environments.
- Implement and support Oracle Spatial.
- Build custom ETL utilities using Cron/Crontab, SQL*Loader, and PL/SQL.
- Perform DBA activities including patching, database cloning, backup/recovery, and script development.
- Develop scripts using Windows Batch, Unix Shell, and PL/SQL.
- Troubleshoot and resolve ETL job issues.
Qualifications:- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Systems Programmer / DBA.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a lead role.
- 4+ years of DBA experience with Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- 3+ years of experience transferring, validating, and maintaining databases in cloud environments.
- Strong experience with ADABAS/NATURAL, DB2, IMS, and IBM z/OS mainframe environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
