Job Description
Position: Mainframe z/OS System AdminLocation: New Jersey, NJ (Onsite)Duration: ContractRoles & Responsibilities
- Day-to-day z/OS operations support across production and non-production environments.
- Troubleshooting OS, performance, storage, and file system-related issues.
- Regular health checks and preventive maintenance activities.
- Review documents on regular basis to maintain AS IS processes and procedures as current as possible.
- Build relationships with customers and SMEs at customer's site and with hardware vendors & support teams.
- Plan and support Version Upgrade, Operating system and tools installation.
- Track the delivery and enforce SLA including vendors.
- Capacity planning and system performance tuning.
- Track all escalations and bridge the gaps accordingly through action items.
- Draft policies in consultation with clients and workload as per business need through ITIL framework.
- Create, update and maintain SOPs and operational documentation.
- Identify industry best practices and propose environment improvement and remediation plans.
- Support audit, security reviews, and disaster recovery activities.
- Ensure System Availability as per SLA and own the mainframe service delivery.
- Support on all in-flight and upcoming project activities.
