How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:
The Maintenance Administration Assistant provides administrative support to Facilities Maintenance management, supervisors and forepersons by performing administrative and clerical duties pertaining to facilities, vehicles and employees. In addition, this position will provide assistance to employees regarding forms, policies and procedures, liaison, general company and department functions.
This position is currently based out of our Transfer Road facility in St. Paul, MN however it will eventually move to a new facility in Northeast Minneapolis, MN. The position works standard business hours.
This position is open to both internal and external applicants however, internal candidates will receive priority. This posting will establish a six-month eligible list for current and future positions. The candidates permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
Hourly Pay Range: For candidates newly hired into the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) contract, starting wage is set by the ATU contract. Internal hires will follow Metropolitan Councils union wage guidelines.

What your work environment would be:
Work is performed in a standard office setting. This is a first shift position with set work hours to be determined at a later date. This position will report directly to the Facilities Maintenance Manager as well as the Assistant Director of Facilities Maintenance.

If you are new to the Metropolitan Council, you must pass a drug test (safety sensitive positions only), and a background check which verifies education, employment, and criminal history. A driving record check and/or physical may be conducted if applicable to the job. If you have a criminal conviction, you do not automatically fail. The Metropolitan Council considers felony, gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor convictions on a case-by-case basis, based on whether they are related to the job and whether the candidate has demonstrated adequate rehabilitation.
