QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School Diploma or GED.

    1. Able to read, write and understand the English language including following work instructions, building work plans, and respond in writing to written instructions.
    2. Capable of working independently with little or no supervision.
    3. Ability to work within a team setting and follow a team leader's direction to complete objectives.
    4. Job flexibility and adaptability.
    5. Must have a valid driver's license.
    6. Able to withstand changes in environmental conditions inside and outside the work buildings.
    7. Familiarity with cleaning agents and the capability to understand/follow product labels and material safety data sheets.
    8. Ability to handle and use chemicals properly and safely.
    9. Experience in areas of general mowing and landscaping.
    10. Knowledge and operation of power cleaning equipment, outside grounds equipment, and vehicles.
    11. Minor building maintenance experience, preferably in a K-12 setting.
    12. Ability to drive a snowplow, operate snow removal equipment and a forklift.
    13. A bility to assist the maintenance mechanics.
    14. General knowledge of a computer email system. POSITION GOAL: Responsible for keeping facilities clean, safe, functional and secure. Primary responsibilities will include, but not necessarily limited to, accomplishing tasks in specific areas identified by building "work plans." Other duties include, but are not limited to, security, special assignments or project work, and outside duties listed below or identified by the Director of Operations. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties: Me chanical
    15. Minor building maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC).
    16. Daily check of lawn, garden, and snow removal equipment.
    17. Minor maintenance of all mowers and small engine equipment.
    18. Organize and maintain a neat shop appearance and shelf stock.
    19. Complete assigned building work order requests.
    20. Change and replace filters/belts on mechanical equipment. PD-569 2 09/25/2024
    21. Replace light ballasts and bulbs as needed.
    22. Change and replace ceiling tiles as needed.
    23. Perform preventative maintenance checks on building equipment.
    24. On-call duties:

      • Participate in an on-call rotation to address after-hours maintenance emergencies.
      • Respond to urgent maintenance requests during on-call hours and coordinate necessary repairs to minimize disruptions to facility operations.

      • Maintain/repair asphalt and concrete pavements.

      • Maintain detention ponds and drainage structures.

      • Includes all BCTC roadways, walking paths, turnaround, sidewalks and play areas. CDL driving range and the student built house project are included in snow removal. Snow removal is a priority, and all personnel are expected to report to work as directed by the Director of Operations. Cu stodial Responsibilities
      • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of assigned buildings. Duties include but are not limited to:

        • Collect and disposing of trash.
        • Cleaning and sanitizing
        • Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors, and shampoo carpets and rugs.
        • Responds to emergency spills and clean ups.
        • Assist with moving equipment and furniture for proper cleaning.

        • Perform additional requests from administration and faculty for normal custodial d uties. G eneral Expectations
        • Complete all assigned tasks in a professional manner.
        • Follow all safety rules and directives without exception.
        • Wear personal protective equipment as needed or directed.
        • Possess a positive and cooperative approach to duties assigned.
        • Be congenial, courteous and respectful of Supervisors, peers, faculty and students.
        • Be punctual and cognizant of work times. Do not overextend or abuse break times.

        • Familiar with building evacuation routes, activating fire pull stations, use of fire extinguishers and overall emergency procedures.
        • Maintain tools and supplies in a neat and organized manner. Keep supply, storage and utility closets clean and orderly. Maintain an inventory for the same.
        • Keeps work carts neat and orderly.
        • Safe handling, use and measurement of chemicals.
        • Proficie nt with use and care of power cleaning equipment, special cleaning systems/techniques, (old and new), and use of chemicals. Prepared to train others as necessary.
        • Perform other related duties or tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations and/or designee.
