The City of Richmond, Department of Public Utilities is seeking a qualified Maintenance and Operations Supervisor, Senior to provide leadership to a crew of approximately 6-8 maintenance employees. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising designated staff within the DPU Storm Water Utility Division. Work will include: making onsite assessments of citizens request, using the computer applications to enter information from assessment, send and receive emails and approving leave application / timecards using internal computer applications. This position is responsible for training employees how to efficiently and safely operate heavy equipment (ex. backhoe, track hoe, ditchmaster, gradall, grader, Vactor Truck, & Sweeper. This position will be directing workflow and developing schedules; maintaining records; participating in long-range planning; making decisions about equipment, materials, and supply usage; managing inventory; and coordinating with contractors, vendors, and other service providers.

The essential duties of this classification may require the ability to regularly stand, walk, lift, finger, grasp, talk, see, hear, and use substantial repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers; frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, lift, feel; and occasionally crawl, push, and pull. The working conditions may include frequent exposure to hazardous physical conditions and hazardous materials; occasional exposure to atmospheric conditions, extreme temperatures, intense noise, travel outside the organization's location, and environmental hazards. In terms of the physical strength to perform the essential duties, this classification is considered to be medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
