Maintenance & Reliability Supervisor Night Shift
Location: Sun Prairie, Wisconsin
Department: Maintenance
Core Responsibilities
1. Lead Safe Maintenance Execution
- Provide hands-on leadership to ensure all maintenance work is performed safely and in compliance with site policies (e.g., LOTO, confined space, hot work).
- Proactively identify risks, verify hazards, and ensure proper controls are in place.
- Reinforce strong safety and environmental practices, including food safety, housekeeping, and equipment guarding.
2. Own Nightly Maintenance Operations
- Lead the execution of the maintenance schedule, aligning priorities with production needs.
- Ensure job readiness (scope, tools, instructions, labor).
- Drive high-quality work order completion in the CMMS, including documentation and follow-up actions.
3. Drive Equipment Reliability & Precision Maintenance
- Promote best practices in mechanical maintenance (precision alignment, lubrication, troubleshooting).
- Oversee installation and maintenance of bearings, belts, chains, motors, conveyors, and packaging equipment.
- Partner with operations to reduce downtime and eliminate recurring issues.
4. Lead and Develop the Maintenance Team
- Set clear expectations for safety, quality, and performance.
- Provide coaching, training, and feedback to build technical and leadership capability.
- Foster accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
5. Support Repairs, Projects, and Continuous Improvement
- Coordinate major repairs and maintenance activities.
- Support installation and startup of new equipment or process improvements.
- Work with leadership to implement reliability and efficiency improvements.
6. Strengthen Preventive Maintenance Execution
- Ensure preventive maintenance tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Turn equipment inspections into planned corrective work.
- Continuously improve maintenance processes to increase uptime and reduce emergency repairs.
Success Metrics (First 6 12 Months)
- Reduction in unplanned downtime and emergency maintenance.
- Improved schedule execution and fewer delays.
- Increased equipment reliability and fewer repeat failures.
- A more engaged and skilled maintenance team.

Key Performance Measures
- Safety & Compliance: Safe work practices, incident reduction, audit results.
- Execution: Schedule completion, work order closure, response time.
- Reliability: Equipment uptime, repeat failures, downtime reduction.
- Maintenance Systems: PM completion rate, CMMS accuracy, backlog health.
- Cost Control: Overtime management, parts usage, contractor efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, food production, or industrial maintenance.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in fast-paced settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with a focus on reliability and preventive maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food or bakery manufacturing.
- Hands-on expertise with conveyors, mixers, ovens, packaging equipment, and drive systems.
- Experience with CMMS or similar systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive mindset.
- Technical training, certifications, or equivalent hands-on experience.
