Work Hours: 80 Hours Bi-Weekly
Starting Salary: $22.00 an hour
Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma Experience: Six months experience in building maintenance and supervision Licensure: Possession of a valid Ohio Operators Permit
Job Duties Summary:
Performs maintenance and repairs of building, including:
Operates truck or other vehicles to pick up and deliver parts, supplies, materials, or refuse loads and unloads materials to and from vehicles.
Maintains in good order and inventory of tools and supplies.
Performs various minor repairs on tools and equipment, maintains grounds of facility, performs custodial duties as needed, e.g.:
Maintains strict confidentiality with respect to information obtained and processed in the operation of the facility.
Assists in the supervision of residents assigned to maintenance detail.
Oversee fire protection system.
Works with vendors on items to secure work at best price.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of safety practices and procedures. Skills in building maintenance. Skills in HVAC maintenance and repair procedures. Skill in use of hand-held power tools. Skill in use of light to medium equipment. Ability to understand systems of mechanical repairs and procedures. Ability to diagnose malfunctions and determine corrective measures. Ability to calculate fractions, decimals, and percentages. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate documentation. Ability to remain calm in tense situations. Visual ability sufficient to effectively operate office equipment, including calculator, copier, facsimile machine, and computer. Ability to read and prepare reports with recommendation, correspondence, instructions, policies, and procedures. Hearing ability sufficient to hold conversation with other individuals both in person, over a telephone, and on a portable hand-held radio. Speaking ability sufficient to communicate effectively with other individuals in person, over a telephone, and on a portable hand-held radio. Skills in oral and written communication. Visual ability to read and prepare reports. Freedom from mental disorders which would interfere with performance of duties described.
Working Conditions: Correctional facility setting and outdoor premises.
Physical Demands: Ability to perform moderate to heavy labor. Ability to transfer up to 50 pounds.
Communications: Conveys and receives information in person, over the telephone, and on a portable hand-held radio.
