Job Description
Construction Trades Staffing has partnered with a leading hospitality management group to recruit an experienced Maintenance Assistant to support multiple hotel properties located in Buffalo, Cheektowaga, and Williamsville, NY. The role involves performing routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and daily operational tasks to keep the property safe, clean, and fully functional. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on mechanical ability who enjoys troubleshooting and keeping facilities running smoothly.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Engineer and maintenance team with daily repair and maintenance tasks.
- Perform basic repairs in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Complete guestroom and public-area work orders promptly and professionally.
- Support preventive maintenance programs, including filter changes, equipment checks, and safety inspections.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop, tools, and storage areas.
- Respond to guest-impact issues such as minor leaks, lighting problems, or temperature concerns.
- Assist with exterior grounds upkeep, including snow removal, landscaping support, and walkway safety.
- Work with contractors and vendors as needed; ensure areas are prepared for scheduled work.
- Document completed work orders and report major issues to the Chief Engineer
- Follow all hotel brand standards, OSHA safety guidelines, and company policies.

Qualifications
- Two years of mechanical experience in a hotel or related field.
- Demonstrated general mechanical skills are necessary
- Basic repair, painting, wall covering, HVAC, electrical work, plumbing, boiler operation, pool maintenance, and general maintenance skills are required.
- Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving history subject to company approval
