MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT / CADILLAC

 

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for the maintenance and general upkeep of multiple commercial buildings and grounds, residential homes, and agency vehicles. Will perform both minor repairs and preventative maintenance activities.

 

 

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform general maintenance, repairs, and semi-skilled maintenance tasks on the buildings, grounds, and equipment. This could include minor carpentry work, plumbing repair, minor electrical work (replacing light bulbs, ballast, switches, etc.) and mechanical repairs
  • Conduct maintenance and health/safety related sections on buildings, grounds, and equipment; documenting inspection results, corrective actions, and ensure prompt resolution
  • Ensure outside contractors perform inspections according to defined schedules.
  • Review inspection reports and analyze recommended actions.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for maintenance related services and new installations including but not limited too plumbing, HVAC, electrical, janitorial, and fire suppression
  • Evaluate agency vehicles for needed repairs and required maintenance
  • Snow plowing, salting, and snow removal during winter months; ensuring driveways, parking lots, and walking areas are clear of snow and ice
  • Emergency on-call to address after-hours facility related emergencies such as power outages, leaks/flooding security, or health and safety issues

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School graduation or the equivalent supplemented with training or coursework from trades schools
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general maintenance or related trade
  • Prior experience operating a snowplow or heavy equipment preferred
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems

 

PAY: $23.369/hr - $26.239/hr

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position may require irregular hours.
  • This position may require travel by personal vehicle if an agency vehicle is not available.
