Location: Columbia, LA

Pay Rate: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 5 PM

Job Duties

• Restore vacated apartments to market-ready condition
• Handle general plumbing, basic electrical work, and minor drywall repairs
• Install appliances and replace light bulbs
• Assist with property upkeep and conduct regular inspections
• Report any unusual issues
• Maintain tools, equipment, and supply inventory

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.

Experience Requirements

• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic equipment.
• Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints, or equipment documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and preventative maintenance practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school, ASE, vocational training, or vehicle maintenance certification preferred.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related technical environment is preferred.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance programs and responding to equipment breakdowns is beneficial.
• Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement are well positioned for success as a Maintenance Assistant.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in a variety of industrial environments throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift equipment, tools, and replacement parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely work around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
• Manual dexterity to operate tools, perform repairs, and inspect equipment.

What You Will Do

As a Maintenance Assistant you will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, machinery, and facility systems to support safe and efficient operations. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, replace worn components, document completed work, and work closely with production and operations teams to minimize downtime while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The Maintenance Assistant plays an essential role in supporting daily operations through equipment maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement. This position requires technical knowledge, mechanical ability, and a proactive approach to solving equipment issues.
