We are seeking a full time Physical Plant Assistant (Maintenance). This is a 40-hour position (Monday-Friday with on call every other weekend with On Call Bonus). 

The successful candidate must be able to perform the day-to-day activities of the role.

PURPOSE OF YOUR POSITION

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Physical Plant Services plan, organize, develop and direct the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department. In this role you will report directly to the Director of Physical Plant Services. The primary purpose of your position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility as may be directed by the Administrator or Director of Physical Plant Services, to assure that our facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

As the Physical Plant Assistant, you are responsible and accountable to carry out your assigned duties and report directly to the Director of Physical Plant Services.



MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Meet the maintenance needs of the facility. 

Recognize hazards to residents or staff safety and take appropriate action to maintain safe environment according to facility policy and procedures. 

Organize and prioritize. 

Replace, repair and purchase items according to facility policy and procedure. 

Plan and implement preventive maintenance program and document accurately. 

Maintain weather protection against cold, heat, fire and other hazards. 

Supervise outside contractors


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess as a minimum, a high school diploma.


EXPERIENCE 

A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in maintenance/plant related position preferred. 

Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
