Job Title: Maintenance Assistant

Location: Absolut Care of Three Rivers – Painted Post, NY

Schedule: Days/Evenings

Rate: $16.00-$17.00

Key Responsibilities:

• Carries out and follows all facility policies and procedures in regard to the operation of the maintenance department.

• Acts appropriately under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or Director of Environmental Services and acts as part of the interdisciplinary team.

• Performs routine checks on major systems such as auxiliary generator, fire alarms, door alarms, nurse call system and departmental equipment.

• Conducts periodic inspections of the building.

• Corrects all damages to hallways, walls, ceiling, floors, roof, and resident rooms as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

• Assists with the performance of any or all duties concerned with electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, including furniture refinishing or repair, mechanics including equipment and mechanical systems, heating, cooling, and water systems; except those services performed under outside service contracts.

• Maintains outside yard and sidewalks including mowing, trimming, raking, salting, shoveling and sanding.

• Services all mechanical equipment as assigned.

• Demonstrates knowledge of the fire alarm and nurse call systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school or technical school preferred.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Related experience preferred.

• Must meet health assessment requirements, including two stage Mantoux skin test.

• Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
