Maintenance Assistant

POSITION PURPOSE:

Assists the Maintenance Director in the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility. Assures the facility is well-maintained in a safe manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

• Assists with the maintenance of the building, grounds, security, and equipment of the facility.

• Performs daily walkthroughs and inspections of the facility and resident rooms to address any needed repairs.

• Assists with maintaining important records and paperwork.

• Assists the Maintenance Director to ensure compliance with federal, state, and Life Safety requirements.

• Conducts monthly fire drills and other drills as needed.

• Perform additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION/ REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent required.  A working knowledge of tools, repair techniques, wiring, painting, plumbing and related repairs.  1 year of maintenance experience preferred.
