Job Description:

Maintenance Associate|Manteno, IL| HIRING IMMEDIATELY

 

Compensation:

  • $30.00-$34.99 per hour

Available Shift:

  • 6:30am-3:30pm (Monday-Friday) for training
  • 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am after training (2-2-3 schedule)

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.Able to use work order system.

  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.

  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

  • Identify and understand correct hand tool use

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.

  • Starts devices to test their performance.

  • Troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical drive systems

  • Basic knowledge of electric motor type

  • Basic Understanding and use of a multimeter

  • Read basic wiring diagrams, including understanding wire numbering /coding, and symbols used

  • Repairs electrical equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical circuits.

  • Lubricates and cleans parts.

  • Perform basic plumbing.

  • Troubleshoot and repair basic hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, including full understanding of line numbering and symbology used on prints

  • Sets up and operates, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.

  • Understand fastener markings for strength in ISO and English format

  • Understand Metric and English description for fasteners, volumes, torque, force, etc.

  • Complete LOTO training.

  • Performs general PM’s.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or equivalent on the job training.
  • Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced arithmetic skills

  PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This position requires the ability to be able to stand and walk for more then 2/3 of the time, the ability to talk and hear, climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hand and arms for up to 2/3 of the time, the ability to use hands, handle or feel, and taste or smell for up to 1/3 of the time.
  • This position requires the ability to be able to lift up to 25 pounds more then 2/3 of the time and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds up to 2/3 of the time.
  • This position requires regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • This position requires PPE to be worn based on the task being performed.
  • This position requires the ability to work near moving mechanical parts for up to 1/3 of the time.
  • This position requires the ability to work in loud noise level areas (examples: metal can manufacturing, department, large earth-moving equipment).
  • This position requires the ability to work in high, precarious places and around fumes or airborne particles for up to 1/3 of the time.

This position requires the following vision abilities:

    • Close Vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
    • Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
    • Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
    • Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)
    • Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
    • Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires frequent exposure to plant environment including extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
