Maintenance Chief

Seeking a Maintenance Chief with commercial laundry and manufacturing experience for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Portage, IN.

This position offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental and 401k!  

Pay: $50 - $60 hourly (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all maintenance operations within the facility.
• Lead, manage, and develop a team of maintenance technicians.
• Develop, implement, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Ensure equipment and machinery are operating efficiently and reliably.
• Minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational productivity.
• Coordinate maintenance activities to support production and facility needs.
• Implement and maintain maintenance best practices and procedures.
• Utilize strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to address equipment and operational issues.
• Collaborate effectively with operations, production, and other internal departments.
• Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and within required timeframes.

• Commercial laundry experience is highly preferred.
• 5+ years of maintenance management experience, preferably within a commercial laundry, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, equipment reliability, and industry best practices.
• Previous experience leading and managing a maintenance team.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
• Willingness to work extended hours as needed to support operational requirements.

• Electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience with Planning & Control of Maintenance (PCM).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Experience with predictive maintenance techniques and practices.
