What You'll Do
Working under the direction of the Branch Executive Director, you will coordinate the day-to-day maintenance needs of the branch by:
- Performing general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Completing minor plumbing, electrical, irrigation, and carpentry repairs
- Painting, pressure washing, grounds maintenance, and facility upkeep
- Inspecting facilities and equipment to identify maintenance or safety concerns
- Monitoring and completing monthly safety inspections and checklists
- Maintaining maintenance supplies, tools, and an organized workshop
- Coordinating maintenance projects and communicating progress with branch leadership
- Building positive working relationships with contractors, vendors, volunteers, and staff
- Supervising maintenance volunteers as assigned
- Helping create a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for YMCA members and guests
- Reporting any safety concerns, suspicious activity, or situations that may impact member or child safety

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:
- Two or more years of maintenance, construction, facilities, or handyman experience
- Experience using common hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, painting, and general building maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred (training provided if needed)
- Valid driver's license
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to successfully complete a Level II background screening and pre-employment drug screening
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Safely operate maintenance equipment and tools
