What You'll Do

Working under the direction of the Branch Executive Director, you will coordinate the day-to-day maintenance needs of the branch by:

  • Performing general building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance
  • Completing minor plumbing, electrical, irrigation, and carpentry repairs
  • Painting, pressure washing, grounds maintenance, and facility upkeep
  • Inspecting facilities and equipment to identify maintenance or safety concerns
  • Monitoring and completing monthly safety inspections and checklists
  • Maintaining maintenance supplies, tools, and an organized workshop
  • Coordinating maintenance projects and communicating progress with branch leadership
  • Building positive working relationships with contractors, vendors, volunteers, and staff
  • Supervising maintenance volunteers as assigned
  • Helping create a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for YMCA members and guests
  • Reporting any safety concerns, suspicious activity, or situations that may impact member or child safety

  • Committed to providing a safe environment for members and staff

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Two or more years of maintenance, construction, facilities, or handyman experience
  • Experience using common hand tools and power tools
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, painting, and general building maintenance
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred (training provided if needed)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to successfully complete a Level II background screening and pre-employment drug screening

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Safely operate maintenance equipment and tools
