The Department of Administration is looking for personable and professional team players to join the General Services Bureau, Facilities Services Team. This team provides building maintenance support to various State-owned facilities at the Capitol Mall campus. The ideal candidates for this position will have experience performing the duties listed below in a commercial building environment. Positions require lifting and carrying items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, bending, stooping, shoveling, and climbing ladders. The incumbents may work in all weather conditions and move in and around confined spaces. A valid driver's license is required. Responsibilities:Performs commercial building maintenance activities, responds to tenant needs and includes preventative maintenance tasks in the following areas: Electrical. Maintains and replaces switches, receptacles, ballast's, lights; and extension cords; assists journeyman electricians. Plumbing. Maintains and repairs plumbing fixtures, lavatories, faucets, sinks, tubs, water heaters and water service and drain lines cleans/unclogs pipes, tanks, floor drains and sewers; conducts preventive maintenance of plumbing and HEATING systems; assists journeyman plumbers in the installation and remodeling of plumbing systems; Carpentry. Repairs doors and door hardware makes minor repairs to desk and desk hardware, plastic laminate and similar products; repairs and patches walls, repairs carpet and vinyl flooring and base; HVAC. Maintains heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment such as air compressors, dryers, strainers, pneumatic and electronic controls and piping systems; motors, belts, pulleys, condenser pans, duct work, dampers, and ensure related systems are working properly; repairs pumping systems. Assist journeyman HVAC technicians. Assist other maintenance personnel;
Performs maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment; Maintains shop and shop equipment in good working order; Performs other duties as assigned.
Please note: The successful candidate will be required to pass a fingerprint-based background check and currently have, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Idaho Driver's license.This position will also interact with a diverse customer base and must be able to interact in a non-partisan manner when working in political environments.
