Position Summary:

We are looking for a Maintenance Custodian to join our growing team! The process of making cutting tools is at the core of our organization. Providing a facility which exceed standards of operation, cleanliness, and safety is critical to ensure a positive workplace and engaged employees. This positions will make a difference in our operations to ensure we exceed these standards.

Job Functions for Maintenance Custodian:

  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, operating floor scrubbing equipment, or vacuuming
  • Gather and empty trash
  • Occasional shovel and salt exterior walking surfaces during winter months to support external service provider
  • Clean oil/water liquid/spill containers, totes, drip pans and other collection resources
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment, machines, and systems
  • Support building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, structural, and HVAC preventive maintenance
  • Monthly inspections of Emergency Lights and Fire Extinguishers
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to facilities and building equipment
  • Other relevant duties as assigned (to ensure safety, quality, performance, and cleanliness of our operations.)

Qualifications for Maintenance Custodian:

  • High school diploma, G.E.D or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a powered industrial truck certification

Preferred Qualifications for Maintenance Custodian:

  • Previous preventative maintenance experience
  • Basic computer skills (email, updating Excel files, searching web.)
  • Understanding of safety compliance and guidelines involved with manufacturing including, but not limited to, machine guarding, lock-out/tag-out, and more

Physical Working Demands:

  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate by phone using the English Language.
  • Ability to sit for long periods (3-4 hours at a time) and the employee is regularly required to enter information into a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds to support the weight of machine components and be able to reach into machinery for several hours at a time. Position involves bending, pulling, pushing, and twisting to complete machine maintenance tasks.
  • Must feel comfortable with heights and climbing ladders.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation type:

$16-$19 range depending on experience + monthly bonus potential

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Hours: 6:00 1.m - 2:30 p.m (Monday - Friday)

Classification: Non-Exempt, Hourly
