Build Something That Actually Matters

At the University of Providence, you're not just maintaining buildings-you're helping create a safe, welcoming, and mission-driven environment where students and community thrive.

Rooted in Catholic values since 1932, our campus is guided by dignity, compassion, excellence, and integrity. Every role here directly supports something bigger: education, opportunity, and community impact in Central Montana.

Why This Job Stands Out

This isn't just another maintenance role. It offers:

  • Year-round, steady employment (no seasonal layoffs)
  • Variety in your day-no two shifts are the same
  • Strong team environment with supportive leadership
  • Meaningful work on a campus that impacts lives
  • Opportunities to learn new skills (including boiler licensing)

Whether you're working indoors or outdoors, helping prepare campus events, or keeping facilities running smoothly-you'll see the direct impact of your work every day.

What You'll Do

You'll be a key part of the team that keeps campus safe, functional, and beautiful:

  • Maintain campus facilities, including light repairs, cleaning, and upkeep
  • Set up and support classes, events, and special programs
  • Perform grounds work (snow removal, landscaping, lawn care)
  • Assist with basic maintenance (lighting, plumbing, HVAC support, etc.)
  • Help ensure campus safety with routine inspections and reporting
  • Perform custodial duties including cleaning restrooms, offices, and public spaces
  • Work with tools, equipment, and campus vehicles
  • Collaborate with team members, faculty, and vendors

️ You'll be trusted to work independently, solve problems, and keep things running.

What You'll Gain

We invest in people who take pride in their work:

  • Skill-building opportunities across maintenance, mechanical systems, and facilities operations
  • Support to obtain your 3rd Class Boiler License
  • Experience in a diverse, hands-on role with real responsibility
  • A workplace that values respect, teamwork, and purpose

Benefits That Make a Difference

We know stability and support matter. While specifics may be shared during hiring, employees here benefit from:

  • Comprehensive health coverage options
  • Retirement savings programs
  • Paid time off + holidays
  • Education-related perks (unique to working in higher education)
  • Work-life balance in a community-focused environment
  • A culture grounded in values, respect, and service

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone dependable, hands-on, and service-oriented:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Montana driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Experience:

  • General maintenance knowledge: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, landscaping
  • Experience using tools and equipment (mowers, trimmers, etc.)
  • Comfort working both indoors and outdoors in all seasons

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift/move equipment and work in tight or active environments
  • Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout shifts

Work Schedule

  • Rotating shifts including day, swing, and graveyard
  • Includes weekends and holidays

(We value reliability and teamwork to keep campus running 24/7.)

At the University of Providence, you're part of a mission-not just a workplace.

You'll join a team that:
