About the Role

As a Maintenance Director at Avir at Commons, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures and contents of buildings, as well as maintaining grounds. You will ensure that our facilities are safe, efficient, and well-maintained, and that our residents and staff are satisfied with the services we provide.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures and contents of buildings, and maintaining grounds

• Perform or direct others to perform ground maintenance activities such as moving and maintaining lawn, trimming shrubs and trees, removing weeds, raking, and disposing of leaves and refuse, and shoveling snow from walks

• Interpret Company building policies to workers and enforce safety and infection control regulations

• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet facility schedules

• Analyze and resolve maintenance problems or assist co-workers in solving maintenance problems

• Review daily maintenance requests to determine work priorities, and schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of material and equipment to ensure continuous operation

• Perform maintenance checks on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, electric power, gas, air, or water required for operations

• Develop preventative maintenance program, inspect facility and equipment for conformance with operational standards, and plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures designed to improve operation, minimize operating cost, and effect greater utilization of labor and material

Requirements

• Previous maintenance experience required

• Previous nursing home experience preferred

• Supervisory experience preferred

• Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday and lift and transfer a minimum of 50 pounds

• Ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile residents within the facility

• Ability to read and write in English

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
