Maintenance Director

THRYVE of Burbank is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance, safety, and overall upkeep of our skilled nursing facility. The Maintenance Director is responsible for ensuring the building, equipment, grounds, and mechanical systems are properly maintained and meet all applicable safety and regulatory standards.

Duties Responsibilities

• Oversee all maintenance operations, including building repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment upkeep.
• Inspect the facility regularly to identify maintenance needs and address safety concerns.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for building systems, equipment, and grounds.
• Ensure the facility complies with applicable life safety codes, fire safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, emergency power, and other building systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, work orders, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Manage maintenance supplies, equipment, and inventory while controlling departmental costs.
• Supervise maintenance staff and outside contractors as needed.
• Coordinate with facility leadership and department directors to minimize disruptions to resident care.
• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of resident rooms, common areas, offices, and exterior grounds.
• Ensure emergency preparedness systems and safety equipment are maintained and operational.
• Assist with regulatory inspections, surveys, and corrective action plans related to the physical plant.
• Promote a safe environment for residents, employees, and visitors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience required; supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility, healthcare, or long-term care setting strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general repairs.
• Familiarity with life safety codes, fire safety requirements, and healthcare facility regulations.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work with facility leadership, staff, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
