About the Facility:

Our well-established nursing home in West Rogers Park is committed to providing exceptional care and a safe, comfortable environment for our residents and staff. We’re currently seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Maintenance Director to lead our facility’s maintenance operations and ensure the building systems are functioning at the highest standard.

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance of the facility, including its buildings, grounds, equipment, and safety systems. This role is essential in creating a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and perform routine and preventive maintenance on facility systems (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.)

  • Ensure the physical plant is maintained in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies

  • Oversee a small maintenance team and coordinate daily work schedules

  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies

  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs and inspections

  • Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and resolve safety hazards

  • Collaborate with the Administrator and department heads to support operational needs

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in building maintenance or facilities management, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting

  • Supervisory experience required

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to urgent maintenance needs effectively

  • Knowledge of OSHA, Life Safety Code, and applicable building codes

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications a plus

  • Must be able to lift, bend, climb ladders, and work on your feet for extended periods
