Maintenance Director

Job Description: The Maintenance Director will oversee a department with four employees. This position is about leading and supporting custodial and maintenance staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing budgets and supplies, and facilities planning. This is a full-time, permanent position. The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in human relations and skills in the following areas:

  • Demonstrated personnel management skills.
  • Experience and training in planning, construction, and project management.
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of school facilities including organizing and coordinating preventive maintenance, capital improvements, and operational activities.
  • Demonstrated effective communication/human relations'' skills with personnel, and the general public.
  • Experience and knowledge of building systems, i.e.; HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and special systems.
  • Demonstrated effective budget management.
  • Demonstrated effective needs forecasting and planning.
  • Participation (prefer certification) in the Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials Facility Manager Certification Program.
  • A minimum of three years supervisory-level experience in a custodial, maintenance, construction, or engineering-related field.
  • Demonstrated planning and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficient computer skills to accomplish management functions.
  • Ability to collaborate with others, highly organized, committed to superb customer service, excellent communication skills.

o Education Qualifications: Associate or Certification in related field preferred.
