Liberty Health Care Center is seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Director to lead all aspects of facility maintenance, plant operations, life safety compliance, and environmental safety within our skilled nursing community.
This role requires a leader who is willing and able to work alongside the maintenance team daily—not simply delegate tasks. We are looking for someone with strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and general facility repairs, who can actively troubleshoot, repair, and respond to facility needs in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Previous maintenance experience is required. Skilled nursing, healthcare, or senior living experience is strongly preferred.

What You’ll Do
- Hands-On Facility Maintenance
- Perform and oversee repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and building systems
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and respond quickly to urgent repair needs
- Complete routine preventative maintenance and facility inspections
- Maintain resident rooms, common areas, exterior grounds, and equipment
- Leadership & Team Oversight
- Supervise and support maintenance staff while actively assisting with daily maintenance operations
- Assign and prioritize work orders and repair requests
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors as needed
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork
- Regulatory Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with:
- CMS regulations
- OSHA standards
- Life Safety Code requirements
- Infection control practices
- Maintain maintenance logs, inspections, and documentation for surveys and audits
- Support emergency preparedness and facility safety initiatives
- Grounds & Environmental Management
- Oversee landscaping, parking areas, walkways, lighting, and exterior appearance
- Ensure the facility remains safe, clean, and resident-friendly at all times
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade training preferred)
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience required
- Healthcare, skilled nursing, or senior living maintenance experience strongly preferred
Strong working knowledge of:
- HVAC systems
- Plumbing
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical systems
- General building maintenance and repairs
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical maintenance work daily
- Ability to respond to facility emergencies and participate in on-call rotation as needed
