The Maintenance Electrical Worker C plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of electrical systems within various facilities. This position involves performing skilled electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks to prevent downtime and maintain compliance with safety standards. The role requires a deep understanding of electrical codes, wiring, and equipment to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions. The Maintenance Electrical Worker C collaborates closely with other maintenance and engineering teams to support facility operations and improve system reliability. Ultimately, this position contributes to a safe working environment and the uninterrupted functionality of essential electrical infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
  • Valid electrician's license or certification as required by state or local regulations.
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance, repair, and installation in an industrial or commercial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications such as OSHA 30-hour, NFPA 70E, or specialized electrical safety training.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated control systems.
  • Familiarity with facility management software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, motors, transformers, and control equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical malfunctions using testing devices and schematic diagrams, and execute repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Install new electrical components and systems in accordance with applicable codes and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs to ensure compliance and facilitate future troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel and supervisors to plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely, adhering to OSHA and company safety standards and protocols.
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies to minimize downtime and restore operations efficiently.
