Job Summary: The Maintenance Electrician performs installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment throughout the Technical Center. The William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace's normal hours of operation (NHO) are 6:00 A.M. through 6:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and perform corrective repairs.
- Install new electrical systems and components.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code and local requirements.
- Respond to electrical emergencies.
Qualifications and Special Requirements:
- Must have either an electrical license or journeyman certificate in the state of New Jersey.
- At least three (3) maintenance electricians must possess a Level I certificate for thermographic inspections in accordance with American Society of Nondestructive Testing-Society for Nondestructive Testing-Technical Council (ASNT SNT-TC-1A) certification program or have the ability to acquire the certification within 30 days of hiring.
