Maintenance Electrician.

Sheet Metal Fabrication Facility
Job Summary
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installation of electrical equipment including automation systems used in sheet metal processing and fabrications operations. This role supports continuous production by ensuring plant electrical equipment, distribution, and control circuits operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Electrical & Controls Maintenance
Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical and limited mechanical systems, including:
Diagnoses and resolve electrical and controls related issues.
Perform electrical work in accordance with OSHA and plant safety standards.
Automation & PLC Support
Assist with startup, commissioning, and testing of new or upgraded equipment.
Interpret electrical schematics and control system documentation.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Execute preventive maintenance tasks on electrical equipment.
Identify repeat failures and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability.
Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment and process failures.
Continuous Improvement & Projects
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve safety and productivity.
Support electrical projects, including upgrades and retrofits.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate maintenance records and updates in the CMMS.
Ensure compliance with all plant safety, environmental, and quality policies.
Support lockout/tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification electrical technology preferred.
3-7 years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing facility

Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Safety & Compliance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in sheet metal fabrication processes
PLC programming experience
Experience with robotic systems
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends
Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods

Effective communication with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams
