Maintenance Electrician

The Leggett & Platt Flooring division, located in Statesville, NC is searching for a Maintenance Electrician to join our Maintenanceteam to help support our Carpet Underlay business.  Leggett & Platt's inventive heritage and leadership in the residential products industry span more than 130 years. As The Components People, we are the leading supplier of a wide range of products and components for all areas of life, including mattress springs, carpet cushion, automotive components as well as bedding machinery and erosion-controlled products.Learn more about the history of Leggett: https://leggett.com/history.As a Maintenance Electrician you will have the opportunity to assist in working on projects that will improve current processes in our manufacturing process.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring that our facility follows all electrical requirements.  The team you will be working with collaborates to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner, and values great workmanship.  So, what will you be doing as a Maintenance Electrician?

• Safely install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical/electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Replace faulty electrical components of machines, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices using hand tools.
• Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components.
• Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Follow manuals, schematic diagrams and blueprints using hand tools and test equipment to connect power supply wires to machines and equipment.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance on machinery and electrical systems.
• Must be knowledgeable of the safety requirements in the handling of chemicals and/or hazardous waste.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have the following:

• Must have at least 2 years Electrical Maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Understanding and ability to apply NFPA 79 standards.
