Maintenance Electrician

2nd & 3rd Shift Available


Scope of Position


Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join its manufacturing maintenance team. This hands-on role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical, electronic, and automated production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. The ideal candidate has strong industrial electrical experience, excels at diagnosing equipment issues, and is committed to preventative maintenance, continuous improvement, and workplace safety.


Responsibilities


  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, electronic, and electromechanical equipment to minimize production downtime.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and plant infrastructure.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, motors, drives, transformers, switchgear, lighting, control panels, and power distribution systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to support repairs and new equipment installations.
  • Test electrical circuits, components, and equipment using appropriate diagnostic tools and meters.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, relays, VFDs, motor controls, and automated production systems.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain industrial instrumentation and process control equipment as needed.
  • Support equipment upgrades, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and preventive maintenance documentation using the plant's maintenance management system.
  • Partner with production personnel to resolve equipment issues quickly while maintaining product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in training operators on proper equipment operation and basic preventative maintenance practices.
  • Follow all company safety policies, GMPs, OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical safety standards.
  • Participate in emergency breakdown response and support scheduled maintenance activities as required.
  • Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work environment while supporting overall plant performance.


Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, automation, instrumentation, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently while responding effectively to changing production priorities.
