Maintenance Engineer I

JOB TITLE: Maintenance Engineer

IPAY LEVEL: Auxiliary 4 REPORTS TO: Maintenance Lead

CALENDAR: 261 days/year

DEPTS: SCHOOL Facility Services Department

WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-Exempt

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assume responsibility for the safe condition of assigned facilities including repairs to doors, windows, ceiling tile & grid, floor coverings, toilet stalls, lockers, hardware, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED Minimum of three years experience in general or specialized maintenance experience Technical training and certification preferred Meet minimum physical requirements. Pre-employment examination required Valid Drivers License

DUTIES: • Examine assigned facilities for purpose of general maintenance • Enter and complete work orders as requested • Responsible for safe condition of assigned facilities • Must have regular and consistent attendance • Perform other duties as assigned

EQUIPMENT USE: Power tools, drill, saw, etc. hand tools, welder, gas and electric air shop tools, band saw, table saw, ladders, lifts

WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands: Physical Demands: Environmental Factors: Continual walking and standing, frequent heavy lifting and carrying, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust fumes, and odors. Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Work around moving objects or vehicles.
