Job Title: Maintenance Engineer III - HVAC
Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Maintenance Lead Pay Grade: Aux Grade 7 261 Calendar: Dept. - School Facility Services Department
Salary commensurate with experience
Primary Purpose: Under general supervision, maintain repair and install new HVAC equipment throughout the district. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all district HVAC equipment.
Qualifications:
Education: Certification: High school diploma or GED Valid Texas drivers license EPA refrigerant recovery certification
Special Knowledge: Skills: Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written material Ability to diagnose and resolve problems Ability to use hand and power tools Such alternatives to the above as the district may find appropriate
Experience: Minimum three years experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
• Receive and make repairs from work orders. • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various types of HVAC systems. • Repair, replace, or calibrate controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring. • Maintain an inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and materials. • Respond to emergency calls as needed. • Perform planned maintenance on HVAC. • Promote high standards of safety and good housekeeping. • Report to Maintenance Lead items that are in need of repair. • Maintain a spirit of cooperation and helpfulness with all school personnel and with the general public. • Maintain the equipment issued to him/her, keeping it clean and in good repair. • Assist Energy Manager to complete energy conservation issues. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: Physical Demands: Standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling for long periods of time Frequent lifting of 50 pounds Prolonged or irregular hours may be required
