The Hotel Engineer/Maintenance Technician ensures that all hotel facilities and equipment are maintained in excellent working conditions. This position responds promptly to maintenance requests and supports the overall guest experience by ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. Union environmentWe are a drug-free workplace and participate in E-Verify.What you will be doingRoles and Responsibilities: This job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an employee in this position may be asked to perform from time to time.Key Responsibilities:Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.Diagnose and repair non-functioning machinery and equipment.Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, including:CarpentryPlumbingElectrical workPaintingHVAC maintenanceMasonryConduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance.Maintain accurate records of completed repairs and report items requiring further attention.Maintain and update the Guest Room Preventive Maintenance Program.Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures, including the location of all emergency shut-offs.Respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.Requirements: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidaysAbility to multitask and work in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills with guests and team membersPrevious hotel engineering experience a plusStrong technical and mechanical aptitudeAbility to make sound decisions under pressureFlexible availabilityAbility to lift 50 pounds or moreAbility to operate heavy machineryLicenses and certifications are a plusQualification Standards:Education: Degree a plus.
