Maintenance Engineer

$20+ hourly

• Oversee the maintenance and operation of the hotel's physical structures and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient functioning.
• Ensure that routine maintenance is completed in all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces, and grounds.
• Verify the timely completion of all repairs, replacements, and renovation projects within the hotel.
• Adhere to corporate purchasing policies and controls, including managing contractor bids, budgets, and schedules.
• Enforce safety procedures for personnel and equipment in accordance with company and OSHA guidelines.
• Lead the hiring, training, supervision, and discipline of department staff and other team members.
• Implement Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs and provide training on equipment and energy usage.
• Keep the General Manager and department heads informed about the condition of the building structures and equipment, offering cost-effective maintenance proposals.
• Strategically plan and lead the engineering department to deliver high-quality service for enhanced guest satisfaction.
• Must be fluent in English, capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, and possess various physical abilities for the role.
• Maintain open availability to fulfill job requirements effectively.

Education and Experience

• Minimum of 6 years of related experience and/or trade school training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  

Experience in the following trades:

• Electrical.

• Mechanical.

• HVAC Systems.

• Process Controls.

• Painting.

• Plumbing.

• Carpentry.
  

Communication Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational and analytical skills.

• Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.

• Ability to effectively present information.

• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.
