Facilities Specialist III - LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE/TEMPORARY

rATE oF pAy: $15.81/hour

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Knowledge and experience in all areas of custodial, grounds keeping, mechanical maintenance, light construction, light plumbing and electrical work.

Demonstrates a high level of competency, and has the ability to "trouble shoot" and diagnose in the areas listed above. Requires strong communication skills to discuss complex technical information.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or specialized training in at least one area of the building trades.
  • Minimum two years of experience in one of the building trades or four years of work experience that would indicate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the job duties

Work Environment and Physical Abilities: The physical requirements below are necessary to perform the essential job functions.

  • Work environment is a combination of inside and outside work requiring constant movement, heavy manual labor and physical agility and strength.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including carrying supplies, trash and tools of light to medium weight weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis, and over 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, perform repetitive arm and shoulder motions with moderate exertion, lift heavy objects and climb ladders on an extended or repetitive basis during an 8 hour shift to perform cleaning, maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds.

Licenses:

  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License (In addition to a license, evidence of appropriate insurance is required)
