Performs cleaning, general maintenance, and minor repairs of designated buildings and related equipment.

Reports To Maintenance & Custodial Manager Education/Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge:

  • Ability to read, understand and follow core values
  • Safe operation, & maintenance of farm equipment
  • Basic and general cleaning methods
  • Basic and general building maintenance methods
  • Custodial practices, machinery and related equipment
  • The occupational hazards and safety precaution of the trade
  • Customer service standards and procedures

Skills and Abilities:

  • Understand and follow basic and routine verbal and written instructions and procedures
  • Read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Work as a team member in a cooperative work environment
  • Safely use arena equipment
  • Safely use cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Perform a variety of custodial and cleaning tasks

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work on a ladder and work overhead
  • Various in/outdoor environments; exposure to dust, dirt, fumes and chemicals
  • Requires routine work on ladders and around operating equipment

Experience

  • Valid driver license
  • One year custodial experience preferred
  • 5 years arena experience preferred
  • Requires a self motivated individual: ability to work within supervisors guideline but with minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform duties and communicate in a positive and professional manner

Job Duties

These are the job duties for required of the position.

Percentage of time 100% Responsibility/Duty

  • Perform all custodial and cleaning duties for off site facilities
  • Operate and maintain college equipment at the Agripark
  • Provide minor facility and equipment maintenance in coordination with supervisor directives
  • Assist with other custodial and facility related duties outside the work area as required (special events and function setup and teardowns, moving furniture/equipment, special work-load coverage, etc.)
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance
  • Snow removal
  • Other duties as assigned
