Job Title: Facilities Technician
Reports To: Facilities Manager
Pay: From $18.00 per hour commensurate with experience
Position Summary:
We are seeking 1-2 people Part-Time or Full time, with a mix of weekdays, nights and weekends for Facilities department at the Best Western Windjammer Inn & Conference Center. This role is key to creating a safe and attractive environment for guests and associates by ensuring the hotel is maintained in accordance with all operating and safety standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
- To act as a company representative in relation to guests as it pertains to the building and grounds upkeep of the restaurant and the hotel.
- Assist in the maintenance of the property including painting, steaming carpets, general repair of hotel rooms and kitchen, minor plumbing and electrical work, garbage removal, grounds maintenance.
- Maintains safety and cleanliness of the exterior of the hotel, grounds, pool and exercise room.
- Drives scheduled Shuttle to/from Airport and Hospital; Helps with baggage.
- Keeps walkways and parking lots free from snow and ice.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- General maintenance experience with hotels or apartments.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, and reach upward.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures and cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers.
- A clean driving record is a must, (to drive our local shuttle van).
Physical Demands:
Lifting/moving up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Bending, handling, walking, reaching, standing and driving. Use of 2, 6, 8 ft. step ladder and a 18 ft. aluminum and 28 ft. fiberglass ladders. Respirators are used when handling chlorine during pool cleaning.
