Contract Unit: This position is part of the non-supervisory support services bargaining unit.

Qualifications

  • A degree in logistics management or a related field with five (5) years' experience in educational K-12, commercial, or retail preferred. All experience must be within the field and should demonstrate mastery in the field, expert knowledge of the industry, progressive responsible construction experience, and should include supervisory, managerial, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with WCPS policies and department procedures and/or previous experience in a State of Maryland public school system is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of logistics, procurement processes, techniques, and inventory control software and systems regarding replenishment and logistics transactions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and develop standard operations procedures to meet supply, parts, and furniture needs.
  • Proficient in cost management, estimating and budgeting, procurement regulations, and contract administration.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects effectively, meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives.
  • Ability to effect satisfactory compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Possess good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to assign tasks and manage staff daily.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, administration, and other department associates.
  • Ability to manage subordinates and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to manage, supervise, and document effectively.
  • Must be able to use a computer, email, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, the internet, and a wide variety of commercially available applications.

Responsibilities

  • The Maintenance Foreman - Logistics is responsible for the procurement, evaluation, allocation, tracking, scheduling, and management of inventory assets transferred among locations throughout Wicomico County Public Schools.
  • The Logistics Foreman will report to the Operations Facility Manager and work with all supporting departments regarding furniture and supply needs.
  • The Logistics Foreman will work with the procurement department to ensure compliance with all purchasing requirements and pricing guidelines.
  • This position develops and monitors an inventory control system that will display current purchases and current inventory levels for all inventory purchased for WCPS.
  • The Logistics Foreman will manage and assign duties to the logistics staff and conduct annual evaluations and disciplinary actions
