    Maintenance/Grounds Technician
     
    The Out-of-Door Academy seeks a Maintenance/Grounds Technician to join our facilities department.
     
    Responsibilities
    Reporting to the Campus Supervisor, the Maintenance/Grounds Technician will be responsible for the following:
    • Oversee and assist with the upkeep of the grounds and facilities.
    • Continuously inspect campuses for safety, aesthetic needs, and correct accordingly or recommend long-term solutions.
    • Perform a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds, including, but not limited to: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and painting tasks.
    • Repair and treat structures such as floors, showers, sinks, walls, roofs, and carpets.  Perform minor troubleshooting, repairs and adjustments on doors, cabinets, desks, closets, etc.
    • Live the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility. 
    Qualifications- The following experience, skills & knowledge are required and/or preferred:
    • High school diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
    • OSHA 10 certified required or must be obtained upon hire.
    • Must have knowledge of and be comfortable working with technology.
    • Self-directed individual who is solution orientated, flexible and works well with teams and individuals while possessing a positive attitude.
    • Able to multi-task with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Must possess strong verbal and organizational skills.
    • Must hold a valid Florida driver’s license, CDL preferred.
    • Certification in the use and storage of pesticides preferred.
    • Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid preferred, will provide upon hire if needed
    Compensation and Benefits
     
    This is a 12-month full-time non-exempt position eligible for overtime and available immediately. Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
