This Posting is Short Term Job for the 2025-2026 School Year.Facilities245-Day ContractJob Title Maintenance - Grounds UnlicensedAssignment Facilities Department Maintenance Services TeamMinimum QualificationsAny combination of diversified grounds and landscape maintenance experience andor training in the equaling a minimum of three 3 yearsKnowledge of the standard methods practices tools and materials used in grounds and landscaping knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the maintenance tradesKnowledge and experience with commercial irrigation systemsKnowledge and experience in herbicide and pesticide applicationsKnowledge and experience in small and large mowing equipmentAdditional consideration will be given for certification in the operation of heavy equipmentSkill and ability to drive and pull trailers with heavy equipment non-CDL andCurrent New Mexico Drivers License with insurable driving record.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesManual physical labor requiredPerforms assigned work in all of the following areasCommercial Irrigation repair and installationMowing and care of athletic surfaces to included synthetic turfFertilization of landscape areasWeed control including application of approved herbicides and pesticidesProper and appropriate pruning of trees and shrubsCutting and removal of dead plantings including large treesPainting and measuring of parking lot stripes curbs and sports fieldsOther related grounds and landscape workSnow and ice removalOperation and maintenance of heavy equipment includingBackhoeBobcat skid loaderPulling trailersCommercial mowersTractorsProvides excellent customer serviceUpon approval of Grounds Foreman purchases supplies as needed to perform work. Considers the purchase of materials that provide the best value to the DistrictReceives and accurately records all work performed in the District electronic work order system. Properly accounts for costs including hours worked materials used and contracted services used to complete work orderUses and maintains tools equipment and vehicles assigned and assures that all is maintained and used safely as outlined by manufacturer and or preventative maintenance proceduresPerforms all work using proper personal protective equipment PPE in accordance with Maintenance Safety PlanAssists Grounds Foremen in planning projectsServes as a consultant to supervisor in areas of expertiseComplies with state-approved New Mexico Administrative Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession and the RRPS Employee Standards of Conduct and upholds and enforces rules administrative directives and regulations school board policies and local state and federal regulations andEmployee may be assigned other duties based on the needs of the district during the term of employment.Work Hours8 Hours per day245 Day ContractGrounds Foreman or Supervisor may assign additional work hours andEmployee may be required to perform Emergency Call-Back.Application ProceduresThe following documents shouldbe attached to complete this applicaiton if availableCopy of current New Mexico Drivers LicenseAn Equal Opportunity Employerhttpswww.rrps.netpagesalaries
