About the Role:

Role involves the maintenance and upkeep of bank offices, facilities, buildings, and grounds through providing consistent, quality service that is timely and responsive to all situations. This role is a temporary, on-call position. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Facilities Manager with building maintenance needs, supply ordering and mail pickup and delivery
  • Work with Facilities Manager to manage onsite vendors at various locations
  • Coordinate various inspections with Facilities Manager and vendors involved
  • Prioritize facility requests
  • Repair and maintenance of all Bank facilities as needed or required
  • Conduct preventative maintenance; Recommend maintenance needs
  • Interact with branch personnel on resolving facility needs. 
  • Maintain building and facilities keeping them clear from potential hazards to ensure the safety of the bank employees and customers at all times. 
  • Perform maintenance duties including but not limited to; plumbing, painting, carpentry, snow removal, grounds patrol/litter pickup, plant and various landscape needs, electrical work, etc.
  • Process outgoing mail, ensuring timely pickups, and preparing special shipments.
  • Occasionally assemble structural bank equipment (i.e. carts, chairs, bulletin boards etc.)
  • Move and arrange desks, furniture and partitions as needed
  • Assist Facilities Manager with company vehicle maintenance needs
  • Document Shred and maintenance of records retention storage

Other Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Participate in Community Service and Bank-sponsored activities that service and support the mission and values of Valley Bank.
  • Keep all information related to our customers private and confidential.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, such as the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control as well as following company policies and procedures.
  • On time completion of all OnCourse assignments

NOTE:   Only minimum duties listed. Other responsibilities may be required and requested by Management.

 

The assigned work hours and locations may vary, including some weekends and non-traditional holidays.

About You:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Basic working experience of carpentry, electrical, lighting, plumbing, paint, landscape, snow removal, and an understanding of office equipment, computers and desk setup.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Ability and willingness to conduct daily interactions consistent with established Valley Bank culture norms.
  • Work quickly with a high level of accuracy and craftsmanship.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to operate and safely handle power tools.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, contractors and the public.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: lifing 10-50 pounds regularly. 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
